Dry roasted chickpeas (garbanzos) are simple to prepare and make a great snack. This is an ayurvedic recipe that is said to restore exhausted energy as well as other things. Dry roasted chickpeas (garbanzos) make a great snack.


  • 2 cups of cooked (or canned) chickpeas (garbanzos, this is the amount in a normal sized can)
  • 2 table spoons of oil (olive. or whichever type you prefer)
  • salt and pepper to taste


Toss the chickpeas (garbanzos) in the oil. Spread the chickpeas (garbanzos) out on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast at 350F for 30 mins until the chickpeas are crisp on the outside and slightly soft on the inside.

Additional Tips

Dry roasted chickpeas (garbanzos) make a great snack on their own or as a topping to salad or soup. Try experimenting by adding various spices to the dry roasted chickpeas: garlic powder, cumin, and garam masala make great choices.
