Fresh coriander (cilantro) chutney has the tangy, slightly sour taste of the green coriander leaves. This popular chutney is made fresh daily Indian restaruants. The coriander (cilantro) chutney recipe is made from coriander leaves and spices ground into a paste. Chutney is used as condiment with Indian style foods. It is also extremely healthy; its basically a concentrated green salad with lemon juice.


  • 3 c. fresh coriander (cilantro) leaves, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 green chili, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper


1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

2. Put chutney in a non-metallic bowl to serve.

Additional Tips

An excellent condiment with Indian style food or any style for that matter. Use it with curries, breads and pickles. Try it on a sandwich or in a wrap with veggies.
